| The Giver, by Lois Lowry review by Carl K | ||
| The Giver is a very
simple book that leaves much history or pre-story out of the tale.
It's a tale that has some rather interesting turns of events, but much
of it was contrived. It's a story of a make believe world, with no
war, pain, no true feelings at all really. That's why it's
contrived from the start. An interesting book however that is
worth a go round as it's very short and easily read. The end of
the story is excellent in my mind, because it leaves so much for you to
decide on your own.
This seems to me a young persons book, and one that's trying to teach me something. I'm just not sure what it's trying to teach..... |
