| The Hobbit, By J.R.R. Tolkien review by Carl K | ||
| The Hobbit was a
delightful read that brings us into Tolkien's created realm of Middle
Earth. Tolkien has a wonderful way with storytelling, and this
book is a great stepping stone for kids in elementary school to get into
more complex fantasy writing later in their reading. The Lord of
the Rings Trilogy, other Middle Earth novels, and compilations are much
broader in scope and detail, but this story of a hobbit that gets caught
by the strange breezes of life is mostly lighthearted and fun.
You never know where the river that washes up at your door may lead you! This is worth a read for young and old. |
