Punkirita Quest I: Liquid

Author:  Ryan Stevens, 1996 (IF Comp entry).
Review by Jenn.

Nutshell:  A very simple game, with no real puzzles.

Game Info:  (where to download, other games by this author, etc)

A very simple game, with no real puzzles: just figure out how to kill the wizard that’s terrorizing the water supply to your town.  The game is easily played in less than ten minutes.

This author often writes under the name of Rybread Celsius.  If you’ve never played this game before, then don’t.   If you’ve never experienced Rybread Celsius’s style of gaming then you need to start elsewhere. Try playing Rippled Flesh:  that’ll tell how his games usually flow and then you can decide for yourself.
Story 2/10 Very bare bones and quite cliché.
Writing 4/10 Lots of typos and grammatical errors.  (Like my reviews are any better?)
Puzzles 0/10 No points given here because the puzzles aren't worth it!
Coding 4/10 Probably the first time I've given such a low score.  I don't program but I could find the bugs in this game.
Parser 1/10 There's a lack of it.
Humor 2/10 If there's humor in this game, I don't see it.
Involvement 1/10 The uncomplicated plot doesn't draw the player into the game, and nothing transpires during game play to keep the player interested.
Lack of Annoyance 3/10 Like most of Celsius' work, I found this game uninspiring and irksome.
Game Idea 2/10 This game needs to be stripped of everything, the plot re-thought, and the entire thing re-written--in my opinion.
Wildcard 0/10 Don't even bother with this game, the only reason I did was so I could write up this disparaging review.
Total 19/100 It's so low on the grading scale that it doesn't even deserve an F.
