So, I wrote a game. It's called Tookie's Song. It's a mildly entertaining, "relentlessly cheerful" bit of fluff, in which you must perform strange acts to try and rescue your beloved dognapped hound. It placed 8th in the 2002 IF Competition. You can download the original release here. I've found the best or funniest snippets of what people had to say about it and placed them here for all to see. If any reviewer objects to having his snippet or his name posted here, please e-mail me and let me know, and I'll take it off. Note: while I may have edited out all the mentions of bugs and problems, and changed all of the "cute, but..." quotes to just "cute," I have tried not to change the actual meaning behind the comments. "Extremely good spirited and -- perhaps more importantly --
not annoying... overall, very nice." "Cute, and very well implemented on the whole" "Ho hum... This game may suck somewhat, but there is a
bartender and he gives me drinks for free... and I like a detailed
pencil description." "Very relaxed... excellent hint system." "This game is candy, but it's pretty good candy: amusing...
with a decent variety of activities" "Technically very proficient... the details of TOOKiE'S SONG
show considerable work." "There is enthusiasm and energy to spare here, and some neat
ideas... relentlessly cheerful" "Lighthearted... I liked it... it was okay." "The writing is joyful and funny throughout... Design is
generally strong... lots of extra flourishes [and a] terrifically
complete HELP/HINTS section." "Lighthearted romp... whimsical premise... the aliens are fun
to chat with, and the array of alcoholic drinks one can order is truly
impressive... A candy-bar of a game; sweet and enjoyable"
